The film commences with friends and family of an ailing village head, Malaichami (Sivaji Ganesan), gathered around him on his death bed. The protagonist is unhappily married to a shrewish wife by the name of Ponnatha (Vadivukkarasi), and seeks comfort and solace in a friendship with Kuyil. 16 Vayathinile (also known as Pathinaru Vayathinile) (At the Age of Sixteen) (1977) is a Tamil feature film directed by Bharathiraja.The film stars Kamal Hassan, Sridevi and Rajinikanth. This film involves a young, beautiful 16-year-old girl, Mayil (Sridevi), filled with ambitions of becoming a teacher. She is an attractive, intelligent woman living in the small society and experiences ripe love when sees the new vet who has come to visit. Many are impressed by this charming young fellow who has entered the vilage. He seems to be a wealthy, prosperous man and soon develops a relationship with Mayil. Mayil, who is deep in love, sacrifices her opportunity to study in the teaching college course to spend time with him. Little does she know, that he has not yet revealed his true colours.
Sri Devi’s distant cousin Chapani (Kamal Hasaan) is quite dim, possibly a little mentally ill, and because he is lame, he is taken advantage of and isolated by the society. He is secretly in love with Mayil, and when he sees her in love with the vet, he is jealous and upset. Another important character is the big rowdy (Rajinikanth) who is also impressed by Mayil. Mayil is impacted by all these men in her life.
The theme of this emotive story is to show how vulnerable women are at the age of sweet sixteen, the age of love. This story conveys strong themes and depicts an issue faced by many young women in same situation as Mayil, all over the world…

Pushpak (English title: The Love Chariot) is a dark comedy film released in 1988. Set in some large unnamed Indian city (shot in Bangalore), the film is based on the king-for-a-day story. The film is notable for its inventive recasting of the silent movie form.

Though shot in colour and featuring incidental noise, the film does not have any dialogues. However, unlike classic silent movies, there is no portrayal of characters mouthing dialogues; instead, the cinematographic strategy aims for silence by avoiding scenes or shots where a dialogue may arise and by camera placement that rationalises for the inaudibility of any dialogue.

The film follows an unnamed, almost penniless and unemployed youth (played by Kamal Haasan) whose fortunes change when he stumbles upon a millionaire drunk by the roadside. What follows is a comedic roller-coaster that parodies the state of the society.

Kamal Haasan takes the millionaire prisoner in his house and assumes his identity to taste the luxury of a five-star hotel(actually shot at Windsor Manor Hotel, Bangalore). In the process, he falls in love with a magician’s daughter (Amala). He uses his false identity to enjoy a romantic day with her. Meanwhile a contract killer is sent after the millionaire who engages in repeated failed attempts to kill Kamal with knives made of ice. Finally after seeing the millionaires wife lamenting her missing husband and witnessing several other incidents that affect his view of life deeply, Kamal decides to give up his new-found luxury. In any case, it would not have been possible to keep up the charade for a length of time.

In the much-acclaimed ending, Kamal frees the millionaire and confesses everything to magicians daughter. The magician’s daughter tells Kamal she still likes him and throws Kamal a flower and her address/phone number from a car. Before Kamal could catch them, a wind takes them some distance away. The last shot shows Kamal standing at the employment line, once again a very poor man.

Well, it is almost the same story except for some small differences. Ambani came from Aden, while Gurukant Desai (Abhishek) comes from Turkey. Ambani called his group as Reliance industries, while Guru calls it Shakti Corporation. Otherwise the similarities are there for everyone to see. And there is a song which starts ‘Gurubhai Gurubhai …’, which I suppose sounds vaguely familiar with some other name.

Villager. Visionary. Businessman. Winner.

This is the rags to riches story of Gurukant Desai a.k.a Guru. It is a theatre of dreams and all the usual stuff required for a typical Bollywood cinema have been added to make this entertaining. First, let me concede that I didn’t go and watch this movie with lots of expectation as the last few Maniratnam movies have been let downs. I felt that he wasn’t able to get the pulse of the Hindi audience as much as he had done for regional audiences. But, Guru wasn’t disappointing even though it wasn’t as great as some of his earlier movies like Nayagan or Dalapathy or Roja.

The story line is very simple. Guru is a worker who is working in Turkey. His work is appreciated, but he decides that he wants to do business and returns to India. Against opposition from his family, he goes to the city to start his business and encounters the usual hiccups. How he overcomes one and all on his way to the riches is the story. He encounters Aishwarya Rai, Mithun, Madhavan, Vidya Balan and many others on his way to riches and how they play a part in his growth leads to a couple of interesting sequences.

Guru is not a typical out and out ManiRatnam movie. There is no preaching involved and the only message the director conveys is that work hard and you will achieve success. At the end of the movie there is no writing on the wall like this is the best thing to do, but the writing is that there are grey shades to everyone’s character and how one comes forward and accepts it is all that matters. Well, success doesn’t come without problems and that is also handled in the movie. There is a mixture of realism and artistic liberties in the movie and a couple of sequences lose the momentum due to the artistic liberties taken.

To begin with, let us get one thing straight; Dishyum is not a “dishyum-dishyum” fighting movie at all; the dishyum in the name refers to hearts clashing, not fists. Like Sasi's movies Sollamalae and Roja Kootam, this is also a musical, lyrical poem in celluloid, with romance as the foundation, superstructure and interior decoration.

“Risk” Bhaskar (Jeeva) is a stuntman in films. Cinthya (Sandhya) is an Arts Student studying sculpture. Bhaskar enters the movie with a stunt scene showing a major fire and high risk driving through the inferno. They get acquainted after an accidental meeting, continue to meet, and develop an affinity for each other. Bhaskar reveals to her the difficulties stuntmen face daily when they enact impossible acts instead of chocolate heroes. Her caring nature, innocent behaviour and affection force Bhaskar to fall in love with her. But when he realizes that the love is one-sided, he withdraws from the relationship and stops meeting her. But Cinthya calls him back and requests him to continue their platonic friendship, to which he agrees. On her part, Cinthya promises to marry him if she develops love towards him; otherwise, they would part as friends. Bhaskar then becomes a serious person and tries his level best to impress his Juliet, impress her, and thus make her accept him as her life-partner. Debut stunt-master Shakthi has done his job thoroughly and professionally; fights shown are realistic, impressive, and gut-churning.

Malar (Malavika), Cinthya's mother, is very much against Cinthya’s friendship with Bhaskar. Cynthia’s father Jayachandran (Nasser), a fire and rescue personnel, is killed while he on duty in a cylinder burst fire case. Malar naturally wants the very best for her daughter, and confirms her decision that she does not want Cinthya to marry Bhaskar. She immediately arranges Cinthya’s wedding to some other suitable groom. This leads to the suspense and climax building up, leading to the climax.

This story is sure to be a turning point in Jeeva’s career. Jeeva, son of famous producer R.B. Choudhry, made a firm stand through Raam. Jeeva continues from this point and has matured as a actor. His acting is impeccable and natural; his emoting, expressions, emotions expressed by looks, body-language – all are perfect. He is assisted by the dialogues which are crisp, racy, apt, and poetical at times. Sandhya, the heroine of Kaadhal, has given a glamorous and neat performance; she is an able foil to Jeeva’s acting; it is difficult to decide who has acted better in this movie. Malayalam actor Badhru, (the dwarf in Albhudhavilakku) raises laughs with his acting and dialogues in his vital role as Jeeva’s friend and sidekick.

Music by Vijay Anthony and cinematography by Sentonio Dersio are additional plus points in the film. All songs are melodious; background music is NOT loud, which is a major relief. Our personal thanks to Director Sasi for giving a clean feel-good movie without vulgarity, unnecessary fights or loud music. The movie has all the ingredients for a box-office hit, and is one of the best releases of 2006. Thank you, sangeevan

Story

Pitted against them is the other big one ----PVS family (peopled by Nadhiya, Vijayakumar and Nasser). And then there is Banu (Bhanu). Bharani, as cinema rules mandate, loves Banu. In a sense, he has rights to marry Banu as we are told that Sakunthala (Nadhiya) is the estranged wife of Saravanan. The two had parted ways over Saravanan’s extreme fondness for his sister (Bharani’s mother).

It all builds towards a heightened climax as the two young lovers try to hammer out peace between the two families and principally between the at-war hubby and wife.

Story

Slowly, he gets closer to Madhavi and the day he wishes to propose to her, he realises that she is already married and her husband left her. Now the husband wants to re-unite with her which forces him to sacrifice his love. Years pass by and he turns into a drunkard. Meanwhile Madhavi loses her husband. She comes to know of Balakrishna who the doctors say is going to die soon. So she takes care of his medical needs and requests Balakrishna to teach dance to her daughter. The movie ends with Madhavi's daughter becoming a great dancer and the death of Balakrishna giving a message "There is no end to art".

The story is about how lies can have a domino effect and how a simple harmless lie may cascade into something really dangerous and life threatening. K.B. does really brilliant mega serials and as a veteran he is trying to adapt and compete with the younger generation of directors. He does fit in in some places but then there are others where he is grossly lacking. To his credit he is one of the best directors that Tamil movie ever had for the longest time with his active era extending from 1965 through early1990's. And this movie not to be outdone by his previous hits surely has the element that makes K.B's style of direction unique but it also sadly acts as the movies flaw and downfall.

Kamban (Uday Kiran) is the son of Valluvan (Avinash) a straightforward politician who will not bend laws even if it is to get his son out of jail when arrested for no fault of his. The opposition party take advantage of this and bail Kamban out and also publicly announce Kamban joining his father's opposition party. Kamban did not know any of this would happen and he did not want to hurt his father. To escape from the embarrassment Kamban escapes to Srilanka till everything cools down a bit.

In Lanka he meets Ganguly a Bengali immigrant whom he befriends and shares a room with. During a stroll on the beach his eye catches a diary with Tamil poems and starts liking the poet. the imaginary father he had created in his mind instigates him to fall in love with the author of the poems and Kamban takes it upon himself as a challenge to make Shilpa (Vimala) fall in love with him. But Vimala who is vacationing with her brother is an achiever and does not believe in wasting time in love.

What happens? Do things work out? Does the imaginary father or the imaginary fate (Prakash Raj) that Kamban creates in his brain win? What happens to Vimala? All to be seen in the later part of the movie.

The story is no doubt a family subject. It has elements of mother sentiment, love, husband-wife doubts, imaginary father and fate, father sentiment, annoying third wheel from Bombay who claims that he was in love with the heroine since she was in 5th or 6th standard, etc. It could have been a commercial movie hadn't there been too many slowing factors. As far as acting goes everyone seems to be on the good page but then the story itself lacked the speed and interest which was lost due to introduction of many unwanted characters. It is okay for one time watch although you might be asking yourself again and again why you are doing this to yourself. Uday Kiran was a promising young Telugu actor who landed himself into trouble after breaking the engagement with Chiru's daughter and now his break into the Tamil industry seems nothing but bleak.

Story

Govindan (Manivannan) is a thief who has two children. Aadhi (Pasupathy) and Mathi ('Chiyaan' Vikram). Years go by and the two, Aadhi and Madhi, decide to stop stealing and mend their ways and lead a hardworking life along with their father. The story runs on two tracks. One is that of Chandra Bose alias Chandru (Kamal Haasan), a small-time broker outside the RTO (Road Transport office) who gets people licences etc. for hefty sums. He is supported in this work by Goundamani. Senthil plays an officer in the RTO who has conflicts with Goundamani. Aishwarya (Manisha Koirala) and Chandru are in love with each other. Sapna (Urmila Matondkar) is the daughter of a high level officer in the RTO. Her Dad promises to get Chandru a good job if he runs errands for them. He agrees to work for them.

The other track is of Senapathy, alias Indian (Kamal Haasan), a 70-year-old man who kills top government officials (like Commissioners of Corporation etc.) in an extreme attempt to root out corruption. Nedumudi Venu is an intelligence officer out to nab the Indian. He manages to somehow trace his way to Senapathy’s house and finds Senapathy posing as an ex freedom fighter. Archived newspaper reports say that Senapathy was an INA soldier who was an extremist. Senapathy’s wife (Sukanya) is asked what Senapathy did to deserve a freedom fighter tag, and at this point, we are taken to the 1940s. Rebellions against the British, atrocities etc are shown, culminating in Senapathy marrying Sukanya but leaving for Singapore to join Subash Chandra Bose as part of the Indian National Army. He returns after independence. Nedumudi Venu tries to arrest Senapathy, but his attempt is foiled, and Senapathy escapes with his expertise in Varma Kalai martial art.

Senapathy then goes on to commit a murder in front of television audiences by killing ‘Nizhalgal’ Ravi, a doctor who refused to attend immediately to Senapathy’s daughter (Kasturi), who was suffering from third degree burns. Instead, the doctor insisted on a bribe, which Senapathy refuses. Chandru parts ways with his father because of his excessive insistence on honesty etc. and considers these values to be dead and worthless. How Senapathy evades the police and escapes arrest forms a major portion of the remaining part of the story. Public support is very high for the Indian because he exposes so many corrupt people. Senapathy does not do his son any favours either. Chandru had earlier taken a bribe and given a licence to a bus driver whose bus was in an abysmal condition. The bus meets with an accident and thus Chandru is held responsible. Senapathy is bent on giving Chandru the same punishment as he gives others, i.e. death. Senapathy kills Chandru and escapes the clutches of the cops too.

There is a big risk in experimenting something in cinema about which the people are not matured enough or aware of or they lack the knowledge of appreciating it. Also when movies of two superstars of same industry hits the screen on the same day and if one is such an experimentation without any commercialism then the fate of the movie is obvious a clean sweep in box office. The same is the fate of the movie called “Guna” which was released on the same day of release of an all time classic commercial film “Thalapathy” starring superstar Rajini and directed by Maniratnam. But know when people watches “Guna” in TV channels they all appreciate the movie for its new kind of story, screenplay and characterization with lot of experiments.

Plot in brief

Guna is a mentally affected person and gets treatment in a mental asylum and there another mentally affected person tells him the story of fictious character “Abirami” and registers in his mind that “She is an angel and she is going to marry you on a full moon day”. After coming out of the hospital, he believes the story to be true and searches for his “Abirami”. One day he mistakes a rich girl in a temple as Abirami and kidnaps her and takes to a lonely damaged house situated at the top of the hill resort called Kodaikanal. Though the girl at first hates him for his rustic and strange attitude towards her, she later understands the deep, divine love of Guna and accepts his love and marries him. Meanwhile, police and the girl’s uncle are searching for her. But finally after a lot of logical twists and turns in the screenplay her uncle kills “Abirami” for her property and Guna also commit suicide with her.

The whole movie is a package Magnum Opus from Main Cast and Crew involved

Kamal Haasan: Kamalhaasan is 100% Guna in that movie. You can’t find even a small trace of real Kamal in that movie. When the movie ends, the character stays in your heart and will disturb your sleep. There lies the success of Kamalhaasan’s performance. You will really cry when Guna hugs the dead body of Abirami and says “Illai” means “No” repeatedly and cries for her death immediately after marrying her. And in the scenes when he bears all the physical tortures given by Abirami and takes it easily, which reveals his madly love on her. Their marriage sequence and his face expressions in that scene are simply divine. His performance often evokes laughter in some scenes. The scene in which he continuously deliver a dialogue with the doctor in a single shot with camera rotating along with him inside the room. Excellent performance in that scene too.

Story and Screenplay: Actually I don’t remember the name of the writer and I am sure it is not Kamalhaasan. Being a simple and a meaningless story it all depends on the logical screenplay, which has to make it believable. The screenplay is excellent. Each and every scene is handled with utmost care to maintain logic. Each and every frame is important if you seriously look out for logic. But one has to compromise the fact that Kamalhaasan will survive at any cause, they have tried to convince us by saying that he is such a strong person who will survive after any kind of disaster. You have logic for everything, which will confuse you like why he loves a imaginary character “Abirami” to this extent, how he kidnaps her, from where he gets all the money, how he gets a car etc.,The screenplay is top notch especially the climax in which they have conveyed “Marriage will be held on a full moon day” visually by showing a full moon after their death. Even though they got married while living they really couple only after their death. The death is the marriage procession of this divine love.

Background Score and Songs: Illayaraja

The background is the one of the best of all times. The background with temple bells, veena, tablas etc., perfectly sounds the emotions of the characters in the movie. The bg score are extraordinary in the following scenes
1) Their marriage sequence
2) When Abirami takes bath in a small water stream
3) The climax when the full moon appears on the top of the house
4) When Guna goes to purchase on the streets of Kodaikanal

And can any one forget the master piece song “Kanmani anbodu” for its unique concept of a Lady love writing a love letter to herself dictated by her lover. The best thing is that, Kamal dictates it like a normal letter but she reads the letter like a song. The normal lines seems to be poetic with this new format of transformation. Excellent singing by Kamal himself and S.Janaki. The orchestration in the first interlude is out of world and the guitar is best used. Even all the other songs are great and jells well with the screenplay. Vaali has written a great lyrics for this song. “Manithar unarndhu kolla ithu manitha kadhal alla’’”which means ’’This is not a human love for humans to understand and it is something far beyond humans knowledge and understanding”.

Balakumaran (Dialogue writer): The veteran writer Balakumaran often pens dialogue for movies. And I would the best of him till date is “Guna” after “Nayagan”. Each and every word Kamal utters has some in-depth meaning and needs analysis to understand. Final scene when he comes to take revenge on Abirami’s uncle and his final word looking at the people and his family members standing over there is “Thu, Manushangala” which means “Shit Human beings”. And also the conversation between Guna and Abirami before their marriage about “who is mad in this world” and madness is what the movie tries to convey is sharp and brilliant.

Venu (Cinematographer): The hill resort Kodiakanal, the lonely house at the top the hill, the cave the second half are nothing but another important characters of the movie. Kodaikanal has never been so beautiful. Excellent picturisation all the way. It is still a wonder how they shot at the dangerous places like Devil’s kitchen, which is now officially renamed as “Guna Cave” after the release of this movie. The lighting, the pattern inside the cave makes the visual realistic without much of any face-hitting colors. The dense forests, mountains, rock caves, greenery all are well captured to please our eyes. And each and every frame in the temple scene is divine visually.

All the other casts have done their job well. S.P.Balasubramaniam, Rekha, Janagaraj are worth a mention.

Why it flopped?

~ Overdetailing kamal’s character through visuals rather than straight forward dialogues
~ Only after watching twice you can understand the logic behind the scenes and the concept of the movie
~ Roshini as “Abirami” doesn’t fit the character and she laks nativity.
~ Though it has all masala elements like songs, action, comdey all are woven well with a raw screenplay.
~ The character is far from reality and unbelievable at the time of its release.
~ At many places, dialogues are like puzzles.
~ The audience lack of maturity to accept such bold attempts.

The mind-boggling pace, however, sets in with Prakashraj's entry. Ghilli is the nickname for the popular kabbadi player Velu (Vijay). His father (Ashish Vidyarti), an assistant police commissioner, is a martinet who finds his son (who still has his arrears to clear before he gets his degree) incorrigible. His mother (Janaki Sabesh), on the other hand, dotes on him. His younger sister Bhuvana (`Baby' Jennifer) is the typical sharp and inquisitive schoolgirl. Velu goes to Madurai for a kabbadi match. But circumstances force him to lend a helping hand to Dhanalakshmi (Trisha) who is fleeing from the cantankerous Prakashraj, a State Minister's son, madly in love with her. From then on it is a hectic run for the two with Prakashraj and his henchmen, who seem to be teeming all over the place, close on their heels.

Story
Arumugham (Vikram) is an uneducated, good hearted, helpful village hick. Easwari (Jyothika) is his childhood friend. A chemical factory in the village pollutes the local river and when all attempts to stop the factory waste from going to the drinking water falls flat, the villagers decide to send Arumugham to Chennai and meet the concerned minister who has won from their constituency. He sets out for the city with Easwari and her grandmother and they stay with Arumugham’s friend (Vivek) and gang. Swapna (Reema Sen) is a model who stays in the same area and she lusts after Arumugham. They meet the Minister (Sayaji Shinde) who is extremely nice to them and promises to help them. Soon Arumugham is forced by circumstances to fight against an anti-social gang with a lady boss. An honest police officer (Manoj.K.Jayan) tries to collect evidence against the criminal gang. When Arumugham realizes that the bad guys are the henchmen of the same Minister who is behind all the crimes! He starts beating the Minister with his intelligence and plans. Ultimately he solves his village’s problem and at the same time teaches the Minister a lesson.
Usually you get a hero, a villain, a heroine and a vamp but there’s just so much more in this movie to make it stand out. You get all those plus a politician villain supported by an entire gang of rowdies led by an EVIL WOMAN, plus a mentally unstable cop plus Vivek plus Paravai Muniyamma plus Reema plus Chitty Babu, all of whom have an active role to play in the movie and plot.

The story isn’t anything new and you don’t expect it to be. The reason that this movie stands out is because of its unique characters. The use of a female villain was brilliant but due to lack of physical capability and height, rather than acting ability, she was not as intimidating as she could have been. Well, she was rather more entertaining rather than disturbing like the female cop in Kadhalan.

The politician villain is less clichéd because of the brilliant comical actor who really throws out a unique performance. Him getting screwed over by softcore queen ‘Shakeela’ was really too good. Some of the songs by Vidyasagar are good. In all, a very entertaining flick that is worth watching at least once.

But in an unexpected turn of events the DSP dies. The DSP is the only one who knows the truth about our impersonator who now finds himself in a life-threatening situation - hunted by both the cops and the real Billa's henchmen and to make matters worse, he then finds out that Interpol Officer is a crook and has taken the place of the real person. He is the one responsible for the DSP's murder. It's now a race to retrieve a the DSP's diary in which the DSP has documented his substitution of the real Billa.

But when baba is just about to ascent to the Himalayas, the villains kill the loyal chief minister. Baba turns back and the film ends with the tag "To be continued…."

Kamala and Senthil - as school going kids have displayed unadulterated crush in a village environment. Few to mention are, Senthil puncturing his cycle to walk with Kamala who has also got a flat tire and Senthil daring to put Kamala’s father’s signature in her progress card and getting punished by Narayana Vathiyar (Ilavarasu - has done execptionally well and his farting scenes definitely brings in laughter). Kamala’s ageing from a teenager to a lady is pictured marvelous.

Lathika and Senthil - as college buddies cross geographical boundaries to fall for each other. Senthil being teased by his fellow classmates as "Pandi" (as Malayalees like to put it) draws sympathy and attention from Lathika that leads
them to an intimate relationship. Lathika’s try to impress Senthil by wearing a nose ring depicts her true love for him. Lathika’s father who don’t welcome their love has a different plan for her wedding. This leads senthil to the doors of addiction to liquor and smoke.

Divya and Senthil - as colleagues in a leading advt.company blend with, help and share each other’s thoughts and become good friends. Senthil is amazed by Divya’s energetic outlook and electrifying character at the workplace. At the
same time, shocked to see her ailing mother and the pains that she is going through in her personal life. This brings them more closer and being a consolation for each other.

And here comes the wedding day of Senthil, which forms the climax of the movie, where his past sweet hearts are invited and Senthil goes through his wedding rituals with Thenmozhi (Kanika) carrying all of his girls’ wishes, miseries,
their current state of living in his heavily loaded heart. And we leave the movie hall with the same too. An absolute heart-winning movie directed in his own style. Bharadwaj’s music is soothing in 2 of his numbers, ‘Nyabagam Varudhe’
and ‘Ovvoru Pookalume’. Foursome Cinematographers Ravi Varman, Vijay Milton, Dwarakanath and Shanki Mahendra are worth mentioning. The locales of Kerala, a treat for the eyes. The ‘Hippi’ hairstyles, ‘Bell Bottom’ Pants and ‘Big Flap Collared’ shirts supports the flashback well.

STORY:

I think ANNIYAN is a result of BOYS being a super duper flop movie. SHANKAR has come up with another strong story Line with ANNIYAN. SHANKAR is so talented that he can’t go wrong with a strong Story Line, Good Actor like Vikram and a good Music Director like HARRIS JAYARAJ. The movie can also be called as INDIAN PART 2 as the Story line is very similar to that Of INDIAN. This time it’s with VIKRAM. The movie is a different movie with lots of GOOD Graphics and a concept that is very different To Tamil movies "Multi Personality of an Individual". Vikram acts in Three Fantastic Roles (One Role as a Fruit, One Role as a Romeo Called REMO, One Role as "ANNIYAN".

The story starts as VIKRAM and VIVEK walking in streets of Mylapore. He is an innocent guy who is in love with a girl SADA. He is "THE FRUIT OF THE CENTURY" with Long Hair and who complains for everything in life. He is a lawyer too. He can’t take Anything that is against law and he always fights for it. He is in Love with SADA. The Love is a one side love as she thinks that he will Not work out for any practical purpose. The innocent Vikam comes across a web site called ANNIYAN.Com which takes care of people Who does non-sense and gives Verdict then and there. That’s how the Other Vikram gets introduced. He goes and takes care of people Who does injustice and kills them. PRAKASH RAJ gets introduced as a Police Officer who investigates the case. The first half of the movie Goes like this. The third VIKRAM gets introduced who is a ROMEO BOY calls himself as REMO and attracts SADA with his fancy Looks. Couple of Well picturised song gets over. Especially the REMO Song where VIKRAM comes with his White Suit and dances with SADA. Great work guys. The Music, Song and the Dance were so good and TOUCH OF CLASS from SHANKAR.

The movie continues like this and SADA falls in love with REMO not knowing that it’s the Innocent VIKRAM in another Form. The ANNIYAN VIKRAM was too good in his fight sequence and the fight sequence was HOLLYWOOD Class like the one in MATRIX. There is one more fight sequence in CHIKU Style where he fights with JET LEE kind of person doing all KUNG FU action. The movie Turns to a 360 degree angle when NASEER a Doctor finds out that he is having Multi Person Disorder. SADA understands his problem And falls in LOVE with the innocent VIKRAM. Then comes the climax. The ANNIYAN VIKRAM calls for a Press meet and explains the problems our society is facing. Then its PRAKASH RAJ vs VIKRAM fights and finally the court decides that he is innocent and he marries SADA. The story is very similar to INDIAN where the hero goes behind people who are doing injustice.

VIKRAM, SADA:

VIKRAM as usual has proved again. There is no doubt that he is a great actor. His KASI, PITA MAGAN took him to a different Level that no one can take if he is going to act in regular Family roles. He comes with a Hair style like “HOWARD STEIN" In ANNIYAN Role and with a Blonde Hair Style for the REMO Role. Looks good in both of them and he really proves his talent in the Climax changing tones and acting in both the roles at the same moment. He displays very good dance moments with REMO Song with His white suit. There are only few heroes in Tamil who can wear SUIT and still look good.

SADA a Telugu movie import is a "SADHA figure". We miss SIMRAN a lot there days. In one scene VIVEK says "CHAPPA FIGURE THALAYILA THUKI VACHU ADADINGADA" !!! The Theatre Rocks when he says that. She has done her part in the movie. She has acted in one other movie in Tamil with JAYAM RAVI.

Story
Rajni, is supposed to marry Sheeba, an alliance not approved of by her father. He is killed and goes to Heaven only to learn that his death was a mistake. He is offered another body to inhabit, that of a timid villager whose uncle and aunt are plotting to kill him. He takes up the offer and teaches them a lesson while romancing with Kanaga. But coming into contact with some characters from his earlier life, reminds him of his duties over there too. He solves all problems and all’s well that end well.
A movie with lots of promise but not realised to the full extent. Rajni’s time in heaven is great fun as he fights with Chitrgupta and dances around with Rambha. The part where he corrects the uncle and aunt are good fun too. But a slow first half-hour and a ridiculous climax pull down the movie. Has a nice sequence where, Rajni and Yama and Narada go through earlier roles of Rajni while looking for a body for him to move into.

ABCD marks the triumphant return of veteran director Saravana Subbiah after a prolonged gap. His last flick, ‘Citizen’, was an out-and-out action movie.

In ABCD, Subbiah has shifted gears to make a romantic film. And the change has been for the better as he has managed to craft a good, watchable film on a man and his “Teen Deviyan”.

Of course, ABCD is not a flawless product. The pace is a bit slow and, at times, even dragging. But on the whole, the director has come out with a film that compels attention for its sensitive treatment. The frames brim with a life and energy that arrest audience attention.

If only the music director had risen to the occasion, ABCD would have become a top-class movie. But, alas, music director Imman has let the director down badly. And that detracts a lot from the overall appeal of ABCD.

The film affords a rich glimpse into the time-honoured theme of man-woman relationship and its intriguing nuances and vicissitudes. The other message that ABCD beams is that there is no other place like home sweet home.

Anand (Shaam) is a young man with a heart of gold. A youth on the lookout for a job, Anand believes in doing good to one and all. The even tenor of his life is disturbed when three young women breeze into it.

The first woman who enters his life is Bharathy (Nandana), a restless spirit fired by revolutionary ideas, one who believes in quick results. Anand helps her in recovering the certificates she had lost inadvertently. Bharathy is touched, and falls in love with young man, attracted by his helping nature.

Shorn off her tough exterior, Bharathy is a responsible woman who has to shoulder the family burden.

Then it is the turn of Divya Daisy (Aparna) to run into Anand. And the young man swings into action by rescuing her from a major accident. Moved by his kind-hearted nature, Daisy, who wants to live life on her terms, develops a soft corner for Anand.

Woman number 3 is Chandra (Sneha) who returns to her parents house from an unhappy marriage. Anand, who stays at the same house as a tenant, is moved by the plight of Chandra who had to go through hell in married life. The husband (Saravana Subbiah) is a drunkard who makes Chandra’s life miserable. And finally when the man dies in an accident, it comes as a big relief for Chandra.

Inevitably, Chandra opens out to Anand, who also finds himself drawn to the widow. No wonder, Chandra once again starts smiling as the sun of Anand’s affection shines on her.

The remainder of the film revolves around Anand’s dilemma on whom to marry and how he resolves it.

In the acting department, it is a keen competition between Shaam and Sneha who comes up with a compelling performance as the widow. The gradual transformation of a distraught young woman into one who wants to live a happy married life has been convincingly enacted by the actress with a million-dollar smile. Aparna and Nandana also measure up to the histrionic challenge offered by their roles.

If only Imman had risen to the occasion, ABCD would have become a much better movie. But alas, that was not to be!

At the end of the day, you are left with the feeling of having watched a soft and sensitively scripted human drama laced with emotion.

The story goes around Suvalakshmi, who is one of the two daughters of an orthodox family. The elder sister being married to Prakash Raj, who plays the role of a military officer, dies due to "heart attack", precipitated by Prakash Raj himself!! Ajith, who dons the role of a charming juvenile falls in love with Suvalakshmi. Prakash Raj tricks the family into believing that Ajith is a drunkard and cheat (in a series of events), which results into a break-up between Ajith and Suvalakshmi. Later Ajith is put behind bars for smuggling, where Prakash Raj narrates the whole story to Ajith. Prakash Raj had killed his wife owing to his lust on Suvalakshmi. After overhearing the conversation accidentally, she flees home to tell it to her father. The movie ends with the death of Prakash Raj, who is caught up in the room with his father-in-law. The prowess of the villainous actor, who with no extravagant action sequences had shown one of the best performances in negative role, on-screen was evident.

Vasanth carefully wrapped the essentials of a commercial cinema around a carefully knit story that had loads of opportunities for all participants.

Produced by Mani Rathnam, this low-budget film grossed Rs.50 million at the box office playing for 210 days successfully. Thus it became the first blockbuster in Ajith's illustrious career who was quickly labelled as Aasai Nayagan by the tabloid. Ajith's salary was just under Rs.50,000. This was the debutant film for Suvaluxmi in Tamil, and she won the audiences hearts by her beauty and stunning performance.

Aalwaar

Aalwar (2007) , film directed by Chella. The film stars Ajith Kumar and Asin Thottumkal in the lead roles. This will be the second project that the pair will be in after the blockbuster Varalaru directed by K.S. Ravikumar. The film was released for Pongal in January 2007, where Ajith faces competition from Vijay. Shooting had taken place in India and Europe. The film's score and soundtrack by Srikanth Deva was released on 15 December 2006. Upon release, the film received mixed reviews but opened successfully in the UK Box-office.

Story

The story is the metamorphosis of a simple, straight as rod, Aalwar into an avenging machine named Shiva. Why does Aalwar end up as Shiva? Well, Aalwar is a traditional priest. He is devoted to his mother and sister. But the villainous elements Lal, Vincent Asokan, take out the sister and mother. If this is not reason enough for Aalwar’s blood to boil, then what is? Aalwar, with revenge ringing in his mind, ends up as Shiva the killer, even while working as a ward boy in a hospital. Shiva is out to make a statement against the venal forces. He sees himself as some kind of avatar — in fact, he bumps off the baddies under the guise of Godly elements. At denouement, Shiva turns up as Narasimha. Shiva says that he is indeed the God. Woven into this simple masala story is the love angle with Asin. Then there is also the comedy of Vivek, nicely done by vivek after a break. Ajith should take care on his story selection, he should not accept characters blindly. Ajith is considerably a handsome hero ever produced by Tamil industry, he should take care of his good looks in his movies. It is a watchable movie.

Story
The opening scene of shows Anjali (Trisha Krishnan) in white like an angel sitting on a white bench feeding a white pigeon by a calm ocean and a police officer (Devan) coming and sitting by her side and exchanging pleasantries and suddenly she whips out a knife and kills him saying that she has been waiting for this moment for many years!

After that the movie moves to Aadhi (Vijay) who lives with his foster parents (Manivannan & Seetha) in New Delhi. He takes up a course in a Chennai college against his parents wishes, as he has a mission in life to eliminate the killers of his family.

Similarly Anjali studying in the same college has her own agenda to seek revenge on her parents killers, and she is assisted by her uncle (Nassar). Soon Aathi falls in love with Anjali, as she brings back memories of his childhood sweetheart and cousin who loved to dance in the rain.

In a shocking climax, it is revealed that Anjali and Aadhi were from the same family. Aathi's father (Prakash Raj) arrested one of the henchmen of a local rowdy, RDX (Sai Kumar). To strike back at Aathi's father who refuses to release his henchmen, he pays them a visit with some of his henchmen and the police officer Anjali murdered earlier in the film and murders their whole family. Only Anjali, her uncle and Aadhi survived the blast that annihilated their family.
